Just a few more days till April and I'm already excited about what it brings.
For one, it'll be almost exactly a year that I've been practicing illustration. This is really neat because when I started to draw again after like a 10 year hiatus I really wasn't sure if I'd stick it out. It is SO easy to get discouraged in art, especially when you are so rusty that your work disappoints you. I've made it a year, I've learned a lot, and I'm getting better - yay for dedication.
Two! More commissions = more painting. Should be a busy month; which is awesome. I have several big projects lined up.
Three! I feel like the most recent batch of artwork I've finished has really shown an evolution in my skill set. The pieces are getting stronger overall and I'm having to do less 'restarts' on projects. You know what they say about practice. I'm stoked to compare what I do by the end of this month to where I was last year. I'm going to start posting side by sides a year apart I think, to show progression.
Also, anyone interested in some art trades? I'm game for it if the genre is right.
Also finished a few new paintings this week:
